What I Tried:
Gao’s BBQ and Crab offers an extensive menu, and I decided to dive right in! I started with silkworms – yes, silkworms! As adventurous as I am with food, I must admit, I chickened out after a tiny bite. 😅 But that’s the beauty of Gao’s – it’s a place that encourages you to try new things.
Next, I indulged in their Snow Crab Combo A – a mouthwatering platter featuring a snow crab cluster, headless shrimp, corn, potatoes, eggs, and sausage. Each bite was better than the last, especially when paired with their refreshing fresh fruit juices like the watermelon, which quickly became my favorite!
We also sampled a variety of kabobs: from big lamb and pepper beef to chicken skin and squid. My favorite? The corn kernel kabobs – crispy, sweet, and unlike anything I’ve tried before.
The Northern Dan Dan Noodles were a delightful surprise, with a creamy peanut sauce that had just the right amount of kick. And I can’t forget the BBQ King Eggplant – charred to perfection and bursting with flavor, and the spicy special crawfish that’s not for the faint-hearted!
For dessert, we tried the BBQ banana, sweet rice cake, and fried milk cube – each one offering a unique sweet finish to our meal. To wash it all down, we enjoyed the Sunrise Tequila and the beautiful Fire Tree & Silver Flowers cocktails.
